Pollarding
Pollarding is a method of pruning that keeps trees smaller than they would naturally grow. It is normally started once a tree reaches a certain height but can be carried out as an extreme pruning technique on some species of trees.
Conservation and Tree Preservation Orders (TPO)
Through out the UK there are thousands of conservation areas where permision must be gained before tree work is carried out. This is also the same for trees that are protected by tree prevention orders. These areas and orders exist for many reasons including to protect the trees best interest and history.
We check every tree we are asked to look at for tree preservation orders or to see if they are located in a conservation area. If either apply we can advise on the work needed, apply for the planning permissions needed and carrynout the work authorised.
There are hefty fines and punishments in place for both tree owners and cutters if work is carried out without prior permission from the authorities.
